See this is the big problem holding so many men back. It’s that you’re all just too smart! So smart that you’re tripping up over yourselves in your own heads that you find a way to get and stay STUCK. Stuck and trapped in what I call ‘Mind-Traps’. Most of all you’ve been so caught up in these Mind-Traps that either you don’t know you’re in one and/or you don’t know how to get yourself free when you’re in them…
This is one of the lessons I wished more men could learn earlier in life. To paint the picture imagine a Mind-Trap is like a train of negative thoughts that lead from one negative thought to another and another and another… For example maybe you’ve just parked your car and you’re on the train and suddenly you think to yourself ‘Did I lock the car?’, which then leads to a ‘OMG what if…’
- What if someone finds out?
- What if they steal my car?
- What if they find my GPS in the glove box?
- What if they know I’m not home and now they’re going to break into my house as well AND steal all my stuff!!?
Sound familiar?
Maybe this is something you do when you’re seeing that new girl and she doesn’t text back… The mind sets up these ‘traps’ to keep you distracted with worries, so you stay ‘safe’, but it’s actually not keeping you safe, it’s keeping you stuck. That’s why you don’t move forward. It’s why nothing changes in your life because you’re all in your head with the fairies and not present in your body taking Action…
However, you cannot just go through life guns blazing in life without clarity over what you’re looking to do. So you need to find a way to ditch the traps somewhere outside your mind. Allowing you to clear the space in your mind to take in your greatness. It all starts with asking yourself better questions.

Which will grant you more clarity to move forward and allow you to take back control of your mind and your life?
The anatomy of a Mind-Trap is simply an Event/Trigger causing a Story to come up that is linked to a Feeling (Event/Trigger à Story à Feeling). The 5 Q’s are aimed at uncovering these and most of helping you move through each of the stages to create the space, clarity and freedom in your mind The 5 Most Powerful Questions are:
- When did this trigger occur?
- What did you see, hear or experience?
- How did that make you feel?
- Why do you believe this to be true? What’s the story behind your feeling/s?
- Where can you go from here? What can you do to start moving forward and leaving this behind you?
This is done as part of a journaling exercise I take my clients through with what we call ‘The Mind Watcher Journal’. You need to be able to track what is popping up, the patterns of belief & fear to start to then move forward and break them down. Doing this exercise once isn’t going to be enough if you want to truly be your best.
