If you’re an everyday man then for sure you’ve got a tonne of tee’s. I’m sure you also have some favourites and a lot of one-off shirts that you don’t wear so often. Or maybe you’re the type of guy who just grabs whatever is clean and smells ‘OK’ right now…
So if you’re ready to get your tee’s in order then let me show you how. You can watch the Youtube video of me folding it here
Thing is what if there was a simple system you can apply that would make sure:
- You’d never lose your favourite tee again
- You’d be able to see all your tee’s in the drawer easily
- You’d be able to keep them crease-free
When I learned about this system for my wardrobe it blew my mind because I never could remember what colour shirts I had. So every time I would go out, I’d be wearing the same 2 or 3 shirts. How did I know? Because I saw the Facebook photos and realised that I would always wear the same combination! (Pro Tip: Don’t be that guy…)
So what I’m going to share with you is the Ultimate Man’s way to folding your tee in a way that you’ll be able to find it in your drawer. Rather than having all your shirts stacked on top of each other and forcing you to dig through them, thus making more of a mess. So that your drawer (or suitcase) will look like this…
Now props for this system actually goes to Marie Kondo, who is an absolute genius when it comes to creating a system to help you stay organised. I just loved this so much that I had to share it with you guys. As I believe the way your room and wardrobe looks is a representation of yourself and your state of mind. How you do anything is how you do everything, so if I couldn’t keep my wardrobe neat and tidy then where else am I a mess in my life?
Step 1 – Lay shirt flat with the back-side up.
Step 2 – Fold one side of the shirt over to the middle long-ways, folding the sleeve back across the folded piece.
Step 3 – Do the same fold for the other side of the shirt.
Step 4 – Grab the bottom of the shirt and fold it to about 10% away from the top of the shirt.
Step 5 – Now grab the new bottom of the shirt and fold it up to the top, this top about 20% away from the top of the shirt. So now you should see 3 sections (top of the shirt, top of the first fold in step 4 and your new fold)
Step 6 – Fold the shirt up in half to make sure the bottom is meeting up with the top of the shirt.
Step 7 – So now your shirt should be able to stand up by itself!
Now you just have to slot it into your drawer or suitcase so at a glance you’re able to see all of the shirts you have ready to go.
Congratulations, you’ve now stepped into becoming an organised everyday man with one less worry on your mind!
